It is not a medication that can be taken lightly and should not be taken without experienced medical supervision. Nevertheless, if used correctly, it is a safe and effective means of helping some short children to grow taller than he or she would have grown without the additional growth medication, Adults and teens who have had fused epiphyses will not benefit from growth medication in terms of height. However, people who have congenital growth deficiency or acquired growth deficiency ( eg after surgery, radiotherapy or chemo therapy or after brain damage of one form or another ), or those who have conditions such as Prader Willi Syndrome , will have beneficial effects from the use of growth medication in adulthood

Preventing Diabetes

Babies born to mothers with diabetes in pregnancy ( gestational diabetes or GDM) , SGA (Small for Gestaional Age ) , LGA ( Large for Gestational Age ) , and who have had a pattern of rapid catch-up growth in early childhood or who later become fat and do not exercise, will be at higher risk of developing diabetes in later life, sometimes as early as the preteen or teenage years.
